Home-made quilted Christmas tree ball ornament always have an extra something special about them compared to the factory made ones, particularly if you give them as gifts to your friends and family.
This short tutorial shows you how to sew a beautiful quilted Christmas tree ball ornament by sewing together 40 circles of fabric together with 20 circles of padding. The tutorial is predominantly written in Russian but there is a simple English explanation given to each step along with photographs. In brief, two circles are first machine sewn together right sides facing along with a piece of padding. This is then turned right-side out, pressed and marked with a triangle shape. The 20 resultant sewn circles are then hand stitched together along the triangle lines and the finished product is a ball ornament.
Once you have successfully sewn one, you could make a whole family of them in different sizes to decorate a table or bookshelf. Try experimenting with different colors or create one that is all the same color… options, options!
